It's down to two

Depending on which conference you look at, my Super Bowl predictions were either outstanding or abysmal.

Way back in September on this blog, I projected New England to make the Super Bowl after beating San Diego in the AFC Championship game. Perfect.

The NFC was a different story. I had New Orleans beating St. Louis. The same St. Louis team that will have the No. 2 pick in next year's NFL draft. I know the Rams were without Orlando Pace for the entire season, and Steven Jackson was banged up, but that's still an embarrassing pick.

Who do you like in the Super Bowl? It has to be the Patriots, right?

Great call on San Diego and Patriots AFC championship.

What do you think the final score will be? This is not solicitation for guidance on illegal betting.

T. Brady

I'd pick New England 38-24. The Patriots are too good, and have too many veterans, to let the Giants hang around.

I had my boys mess up T Brady's ankle. I pick the Giants to win the Superbowl because Eli Manning is so stupid but everyone else carries him. PLUS, the Patriots cheat!

Do you think a healthy Charger team could have beaten New England? Would you have let Rivers play the second half in his condition?
Final Score: NY 38 NE 35
N. Turner

It's very possible San Diego could have won if 100 percent healthy. Based on what happened last week, I'd say 50-50. Turner and Sproles both did OK in replacing Tomlinson, but I think the Chargers really missed LT in the end zone. He scores touchdowns, and I think San Diego would have scored at least one TD rather than three field goals when they reached the 10.

I would have played Rivers the entire game. I thought, all things considered, he played a good game. In the AFC Championship, you take your chance with an injured starter who got you there versus a reserve, in my opinion.

Nope, I pick the Giants for the HUGE upset. I just don't think NE can muster another great game. I think the Giants line on both sides of the ball will come out on top and wear NE down. We'll see.

Who do you think was the best NFL player this past season?

Tom Brady. He broke the NFL record for most touchdown passes in a season, and was the MVP of the league.

He is also the quarterback of an 18-0 team playing in the Superbowl.

Brady had an incredible season playing with almost an entire set of new wide receivers - Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Kelly Washington and Donte Stallworth. He did a great job, as much as it pains me to say that.
